A beautiful Victorian Mourning gold brooch with royal blue guilloche enamel. Decorated with a raised gold spray of small flowers over the blue enamel. Set with split seed pearls and one tiny diamond as the centre to the flower.
 
The brooch contains a very finely woven section of brown hair which can be seen on the reverse of the brooch behind a small oval of bevelled glass.
 
The brooch is fastened with a simple bar and hook, traditional to Victorian brooches. It also benefits from a fine gold security chain and safety pin, which was probably a later addition.
 
The stunning brooch is in very good condition and is a fine example of Victorian mourning jewellery, dating to c.1850s.  
The gold has not been tested to ascertain its karat. The tiny diamond is roughly cut and has been tested with a diamond tester, which tested positive for diamonds.

There are no hallmarks or identifying makers marks on the brooch, but it is apparent that it has been skillfully made and of superior quality.
