A beautiful china pommander, made in England in the 1960s - 1970s.
The pommander has a charming picture of a man and a woman in 17th Century traditional dress engaged in a romantic meeting and are dancing together. The decoration is rare and I have yet to see another like this.
The heart shape of the pommander would suggest that this pommander was intended to be given as a gift of affection, love and admiration.
The black, gold and blue colours used are striking and elegant and it has little gold roses decorating around the main image.
A pommander is used to scent the air - it can be filled with lavender or the pot-pourri of your choice by removing the plastic stopper on the reverse. The holes in the side of the pommander allow the scent to permeate its surroundings.
The pommander is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks and the decoration is in excellent condition.
The pommander is empty and will be delivered as such.
Approximate size: 9 H x 10 W x 4.5cm D
