A French silver plated box or pill box, engraved with an Art Noveau design and a central female figure spinning thread at a wheel. She has the head adornment of a french lady perhaps from Brittany.

The elegant box is silver plated over copper and the interior has gorgeous gilding in the box and inside of the lid.
The image was engraved by B. Wicker, an eminent and well known engraver of his time.

The box has no other hallmarks or stamps.
The silver box is in good condition with a secure hinge. It has wear to the silver plating on the image and the copper base can be seen.
