A Chung pattern, " Cosy" teapot / jug designed by Frederick Rhead for Wood and Sons Ltd., Burslem in England.

Produced in the 1920s it was a novel design for a teapot for one person.

The pot has a blue and white transfer pattern with an orange red paint added over the top of the transfer design. This was a fashionable way of finishing china serving wares in the late 19th and early 20th century.

This is a rare teapot and highly collectable. It is in good condition for its age. It has an old break in the lid which has been stapled together. This repair method is also a sign of its age and that this is an old fault, possibly occurring shortly after it was made.
There are no other chips or cracks in the teapot.

The lid and the base of the pot have various patent marks for different countries and include the pattern name "Chung", the design name of the pot, "Cosy "and the factory producer, " Wood and Sons. ".
