Chinese bamboo carved container in the shape of a bag, caddy or container with carry handle and hollow interior. There are carvings to each side, one which depicts a teapot and therefore might suggest this container was intended for transporting leaf tea or even water.
The handle has a small section to one side which is delicately hinged and when lifted up it reveals the bamboo rod which fits into the main body of the container. This is pulled back and slid out, which then allows the handle to be removed and the small discreet lid lifted.
The patina of the bamboo is a lovely rich brown colour. The piece possibly dates from the early 20th century. It is in good condition. The delicate hinge on the lid is secure on the left but has parted on the right side. This doesn't affect the bamboo caddy visually, only you have to take more care when lifting the lid.
